We are seeking a high caliber, experienced credit lawyer to join the Investment Counsel team in Toronto. As the first credit-focused investment lawyer at Teachers’, you will partner with investment teams to support our growing credit investment strategy in North America and Europe and oversee the provision of legal advice on credit matters across the Teachers’ private asset portfolios.
Reporting to the Managing Director & Associate General Counsel, Investments in Toronto, you will be part of the Global Investment Counsel team (GICT) within the Corporate Affairs division of Teachers’. You will support Teachers’ C$30B global credit platform, working closely with deal teams focused on private and structured credit investments, with colleagues in the GICT, and with other partners across the organization. This role provides an excellent opportunity to work on a variety of complex, leading edge, and high-profile transactions across Teachers’ credit investments. The position will involve periodic travel to the Teachers’ London office.
