Position description

We are seeking a part-time Product Specialist Analyst to join our Fundamental Equity team. In this role, you will help communicate investment insights, portfolio positioning, and performance to institutional clients and internal stakeholders. This position is well-suited for a professional who is analytical, detail-oriented, and skilled at translating investment ideas into clear, client-ready materials.

This is a 2-year part-time contract with the ideal candidate being required 3 days/week (or part-time hours 5 days/week). We are open to remote candidates across Canada, as well as in-person or remote in Vancouver.

What You Will Do

  • Develop a solid understanding of the team’s investment philosophy, process, and research framework.
  • Monitor portfolio holdings, trades, positioning changes, and key drivers of return and risk.
  • Support performance attribution, equity market/sector/stock commentary, and regular reporting cycles.
  • Draft and refine monthly and quarterly commentaries, strategy updates, and client materials.
  • Prepare customized meeting content, including pitch decks.
  • Respond to client and consultant inquiries by coordinating inputs across portfolio managers, research, risk, and operations.

 

Required skills / Experience

What You Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Commerce, Economics, Business, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Progress toward the CFA designation is an asset.
  • 1 – 5+ years of experience in asset management, investment consulting, equity research, performance/risk analytics, or a related field.
  • Exposure to equities, institutional clients, or fundamental research is an asset but not required.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to produce clear, concise, client-ready content.
  • Strong analytical skills and comfort working with investment data, attribution, benchmarks, and risk metrics.
  • High proficiency in Excel; experience with Bloomberg, Macrobond, or Power BI is a plus.
  • Interest in and knowledge of equity markets and stock analysis is a plus.
  • Interest in and knowledge of generative AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT) is a plus.
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
  • Intellectual curiosity, humility, and a team-first mindset aligned with CC&L’s culture.
