On March 5, in celebration of International Women’s Day, WCM had the honour of hosting Bank of Canada Governor Stephen S. Poloz for an Economic Progress Report that followed an important interest rate announcement.  Hosted at the Fairmont Royal York, this luncheon gained the interests of 600 senior professionals across many industries and media, to hear the Governor’s insights on the economic impacts of Coronovirus, interest rates and the importance of diversity for the benefit of the economy; all in a televised speech that reached the entire nation.

The timeline of this event could not have been more significant for markets and Canada. We were pleased to have been able to set the stage for our partners and professionals by hosting such an important discussion. The day concluded with a press conference, gaining the interests of media for national coverage.

Governor Poloz offered recognition to WCM for 25 years of impact in accelerating gender diversity in the Canadian finance industry.  It was a proud day for us and we are thankful to all of our omnipresent partners and supporters, today and everyday.
