What you’ll be doing
At CIBC, we are on a mission to build a client-focused, connected, and performance-driven team and are seeking applicants who can help us transform our bank.
The CIBC Opportunity Scholarship helps match talent opportunities for students facing barriers to entry into careers in financial services. Eligible students enrolled in full-time undergraduate programs in Canada can receive a scholarship and paid internships in the 2027 Capital Markets Summer Internship program.
This scholarship is available at the bachelor’s degree level valued at $10,000 CAD, available for one academic year. In addition to the scholarship, the successful applicant will be offered a paid summer internship in Global Corporate Banking.
As a Summer Analyst, you will become integral to the “Deal Team”, which includes senior corporate bankers, by providing a broad range of support including financial statement and data analysis, financial modeling, credit analysis, industry research and assisting in the preparation of information memoranda and client pitch books. You will also be actively involved in the credit approval process, documentation and closing of loan transactions, and on-going management of the loan portfolio.
The Corporate Banking team in Toronto is organized into five industry coverage groups, which are responsible for managing CIBC’s corporate lending relationships. These teams work in close partnership with three product groups: Loan Syndications, Sustainable Finance, and Trading Credit. Successful candidates will be provided the opportunity to gain experience in up to two of the following groups within Corporate Banking, which are determined based on business needs:
