As an Analyst or associate in the Risk Management Solutions Group (“RMSG”) at National Bank Financial (“NBF”) you will be part of a team of derivatives originators and will interact with clients in all economic sectors and industries. You will be sitting on NBF’s trading desk in Calgary.

In this role, you will be supporting the origination team and actively be involved in generating hedging and trading ideas, development of materials to communicate ideas, pricing of derivatives, and execution of client transactions. You will work closely with the trading and structuring teams as well as several other NBF departments including the investment banking, credit capital markets, debt and equity capital markets, market risk oversight, as well as settlements and operations teams. This role will appeal to highly motivated individuals who have a natural curiosity, want to understand “why”, and who like to get things done. This position is a gateway to pursuing a career in derivatives or capital markets.

Your Job

• Prepare materials to communicate transaction ideas and explain concepts to clients
• Generate a variety of data-based reports and analysis
• Price and execute various derivative transactions using models
• Automate manual procedures and tasks
• Conduct a variety of company, market research and risk analysis
• Prepare market commentary
• Participate in client meetings and presentations
• Perform various tasks to support the team members in their transaction origination and client coverage efforts
