Position description
Reporting to the Vice-Presidents, Canadian Equities, you will assist in research and portfolio construction for the Canadian Equity team. You will be responsible for coverage and stock selection within your coverage universe, which will start with the Insurance sector. You will also provide portfolio analytics, support for marketing, client servicing, and corporate functions for Canadian Equity mandates, as required.
 
What you will do
  • Work within a team environment to manage Canadian Equity strategies for clients;
  • Assume responsibility for research coverage of your coverage universe, including industry   analysis, detailed company financial modeling, ESG analysis, management meetings;
  • Be responsible for stock selection within your coverage universe;
  • Participate in weekly Canadian Equity meetings, and quarterly forecast and strategy meetings;
  • Provide written and verbal commentary on your coverage universe for internal and external use;
  • Contribute to various reporting requirements for clients;
  • Collaborate with internal partners as it relates to Canadian Equity portfolios;
  • Represent Addenda’s Canadian Equity team appropriately in various functions when liaising with clients and the investment community (e.g. CFA Institute, Investment Dealers).
Required skills / Experience
Experience and Knowledge
  • University degree;
  • CFA designation;
  • 3 to 7 years of experience in Canadian Equity research, stock selection and portfolio construction;
  • Strong financial modelling skills;
  • Prior coverage of Insurance companies is an asset;
  • Knowledge of financial information systems and sources such as Bloomberg and Excel.
