Position description

We are currently seeking a full-time permanent Associate, Investment Operations to join our team.

As Associate, Investment Operations, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth functioning of our investment processes. Working closely with the Investment team, Trading Operations, Derivative Operations, and Fund Accounting, you will provide vital operational and transactional support that directly impacts the efficiency and accuracy of RPIA’s investment activities. Reporting directly to the Director, Investment Operations, you will leverage your expertise in fixed-income securities and hedge fund middle/back-office operations to manage and reconcile trades, manage cash and collateral, and ensure timely settlement of transactions. Your work will help maintain accurate and reliable investment records, ensuring operational integrity.

The duties and responsibilities of the Associate, Investment Operations include but are not limited to:

  • Daily Operations: Conducts day-to-day activities of investment operations functions such as sending/receiving wires, resolving cash and position breaks, supporting the product lifecycle of securities, onboarding trading counterparties, and portfolio KYC.
  • Cash Forecasting: Supports daily and monthly cash forecasting and funding of the portfolios.
  • Operations and Controls: Manages all aspects of operations and controls, including trade processing, minimizing operational risk, and responding to internal & external inquiries.
  • Derivative Operations: Assists in derivative operations by reviewing and investigating settlement issues.
  • Relationship Management: Maintains ongoing collaborative working relationships with counterparties, prime brokers, and custodians.
  • Process Improvement: Proactively recommends process improvements to current operational procedures.
  • Ad-Hoc Projects: Responds to ad hoc projects in addition to day-to-day duties.

Required skills / Experience
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience in hedge fund operations;
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Advanced MS Excel skills, VBA, and Python scripting skills;
  • Knowledge of the financial markets, with an emphasis on fixed-income products.
