What is the opportunity?
The RBC Indigenous Development Program (IDP) is a two–year rotational program for recent college and university graduates or non-degreed applicants with work experience who self-identify as Indigenous (First Nations, Inuit, or Metis) Peoples of Canada. The IDP combines practical, hands-on business experience with a customized learning plan, formal coaching, mentorship, community involvement and professional networking.  You have the opportunity to kickstart your career at RBC by working in up to four unique business rotations.

What will you do?

  • Over a two-year period, you will complete up to four business rotations.
  • Assignments within the bank include working on group or individual projects and other activities related to achieving team or individual goals.
  • Associates will also benefit from one-to-one mentoring with a program manager, rotation managers and a mentor for the duration of the program. Through a combination of experience and exposure, you will get opportunities to learn and broaden your personal network across RBC.
  • You will have an opportunity to build your career within a designated business area by applying to internal positions. We will work with you to target new opportunities aligned to your interests, skills, and career development goals.

Required skills / Experience

Who can apply?
Applicants wishing to apply must self-identify as Indigenous (First Nations, Inuit, or Metis) Peoples of Canada and be a recent college or university graduate or an applicant with transferable work experience.  Applicants must also reside near an RBC Branch or a central RBC office in Toronto, Mississauga, Calgary, Nova Scotia (Bedford or Halifax), Montreal or Vancouver and be able to commute into the office up to four days per week.

What you will need to succeed

  • A recent college or university graduate or a non-degreed applicant with transferable work experience
  • You live within commuting distance of RBC locations
  • Ability to learn and pivot quickly
  • High level of proficiency using Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • Comfortable stretching out of your comfort zone
