Position description

Risk provides independent risk governance and constructive challenge over the total portfolio to ensure the Fund is taking the appropriate types and levels of risk. It delivers integrated and holistic risk insights, incorporating all dimensions of risk, to enable better decision making and improved investment outcomes.

We are recruiting for Associates in the Risk department for a full-time rotational program based in Toronto. This program offers a unique opportunity to build a comprehensive understanding of Risk through structured rotations across the four Risk teams, providing broad exposure and a strong foundation for long-term career development.

As part of the program, Associates will complete up to four rotations across the following Risk teams, with approximately 6 months in each team:

  • Investment Risk – Private: Provides oversight and risk assessment of private market strategies, including Credit, Private Equity, and Real Assets.
  • Investment Risk – Public: Provides oversight and risk assessment of public market strategies, including balancing portfolios, capital markets, factor investing, and active equities.
  • Enterprise Risk: Oversees governance and assessment of enterprise-wide operational and sustainability risks, including internal operations and external manager due diligence.
  • Total Portfolio Risk & Analytics: Develops total portfolio risk insights, sets portfolio-level market, liquidity, and leverage limits, validates key models, and leads the design of Data and Technology in support for Risk.

This role is designed to build well-rounded risk professionals with a total portfolio mindset.

Required skills / Experience

Accountabilities:

  • Evaluate portfolios, strategies, and scenarios to identify key risks, trade-offs, and areas requiring further challenge or investigation
  • Apply structured thinking and sound judgment to assess uncertainty, assumptions, and potential impacts on total portfolio outcomes
  • Monitor and interpret key risk indicators, market developments, and thematic trends to inform risk perspectives
  • Contribute to integrated risk insights by synthesizing quantitative analysis with qualitative context across rotations
  • Engage with cross-functional stakeholders to support constructive challenge and informed decision-making
  • Collaborate across the Fund to ensure outcomes are Enterprise focused.
  • Prepare clear, concise, and well-structured materials for senior audiences, including presentations and written analysis
  • Demonstrate ownership, accountability, and adaptability while managing evolving responsibilities across teams.

Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate degree in a quantitative or analytical discipline such as engineering, mathematics, computer science, statistics, finance, economics, or a related field (STEM background preferred). An advanced degree or professional designation is also considered an asset.
  • 3–5+ years of relevant experience in an analytical, consulting, or related field.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze and interpret data, evaluate uncertainty, trade-offs, and risks using both quantitative and qualitative approaches
  • Technical experience, including financial or quantitative modelling or exposure to risk or portfolio analytics tools, is considered an asset
  • Interest in developing advanced risk skillsets, including portfolio risk, scenario analysis, and risk measurement frameworks
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to translate complex analysis into clear, actionable insights for different audiences
  • Intellectual curiosity and a proactive mindset to understand how investment and risk decisions are made
  • Brings a learning mindset and openness to new risk disciplines and investment perspectives
  • Ability to operate effectively in a dynamic, team-oriented environment with evolving priorities
  • High level of professionalism, sound judgment, and confidence to engage in constructive challenge
