Position description

In the role of an Associate Wealth Counsellor, you hold a pivotal position within the Kinsted Wealth Counsellor team. The ideal candidate will be well-rounded with strong interpersonal skills, high attention to detail, organized, able to work well within a team, have an entrepreneurial attitude, excellent presentation abilities, and be able to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. You will be given a book of clients to manage with mentorship from our senior Wealth Counsellors. An existing book of clients is an asset, but not required.

Key Activities

Portfolio Management and Research

  • Conduct portfolio analysis, asset allocation reviews, and manage positions and transitions.
  • Execute trades and manage capital gain/loss strategies.
  • Provide performance attribution and support general trading operations.

Business Development

  • Build strong relationships with referral partners and prospective clients.
  • Create client proposals and presentations.

Relationship Management

  • Serve as a key support to referral partners and clients in proactive and reactive client service.
  • Act as primary relationship manager, handling reviews, proposals, updating asset mixes and documentation.
  • Prepare meeting materials and manage KYC/IPS updates and client onboarding data.
  • Review ad hoc client reports and quarterly client statements to ensure accuracy.
Required skills / Experience
  • 3-5 years of experience in Investment Management or related field.
  • Deep understanding of financial markets and investment management.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, economics, finance, and/or quantitative analysis is preferred.
  • Ability to be registered immediately as an AAR (Associate Advising Representative) with the ASC. (CIM or CFA Level 1 Completion and 2 years of relevant investment management experience or previous registration).
