Home Board of Directors
The Ontario Hospital Association seeks applications to fill up to four (4) positions on our Board of Directors for terms beginning in September 2025.
Established in 1924, the OHA serves as the voice of the province’s public hospitals, supporting them through
advocacy, knowledge transfer and member engagement, labour relations, and data and analytics with the
goal of helping hospitals build a better health system. The OHA is also attuned to the broader strategic
questions facing the future of the province’s health care system and we work to ensure Ontario’s hospitals have
a voice in shaping this longer-term vision.
Information about the OHA is available on our website: www.oha.com.

The Board is composed of 21 directors – 20 elected by the Members plus the President and CEO, who also serves as Secretary. Elected Directors are recruited for expertise and to reflect the full diversity of OHA’s membership.
Directors are elected for a three-year term with potential for one renewal term (for a total of six years).
Board meetings are held four times each year over two consecutive days and include Committee meetings, Board evening session with guest speaker, and the Board meeting. Board members are encouraged to attend these meetings in-person in Toronto. Virtual access to Board evening sessions cannot be provided. Emergent Board and Committee meetings sometimes occur and are held virtually.
The Board is composed of hospital leaders from across Ontario and others whose expertise and experience enables the Board to fulfill its responsibilities. The Board considers knowledge or understanding of the health care system beyond hospitals to be fundamental for all Board members.
We seek to complement the backgrounds and expertise of continuing Directors with new members whose backgrounds include:
• experience catalyzing technology and innovation to contribute to effective oversight of the OHA’s health care innovation and transformation program; or
• a minimum of 10 years’ experience in portfolio management oversight including determining asset mix, risk management strategies and investment manager evaluation and selection for a portfolio of $100M+, and prior experience on the board of a foundation, endowment, or private investment setting.
The OHA’s commitment to cultural and gender diversity will be considered when selecting among qualified candidates.
