Opportunity

Our Investment Finance Fund Accounting department performs highly specialized fund accounting activities across AIMCo’s multi-layered portfolios, ensuring client accounting fairness is always maintained. As Co-op, Investment Finance Fund Accounting, you will assist our department in the accurate and timely processing and reporting of all transactions for AIMCo’s clients. You will be a team player with strong accounting and data analytic knowledge, contributing to the integrity of accounting and NAV data within our system. You will use your exceptional communication skills and attention to detail to carry out and improve accounting processes.

This will be a full-time term position for 8-months from January 2026 through August 2026

Responsibilities

  • Completion of the daily Fund Accounting validation checklist.
  • Assisting with changing validation tools to become more efficient and intuitive. This will include General Ledger and day-over-day validations.
  • Assisting the team in changing the current reporting process with automated PowerBI dashboards for increased efficiency.

 

Required skills / Experience

Our Ideal Candidate Qualifications:

  • Completion of second or third-year undergraduate studies in Accounting or Finance.
  • Enrolled in a formal work experience program with remaining work terms available.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Applications (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Strong financial accounting skills.
  • Experience using data query/visualization tools such as SQL and Power BI is an asset.
  • Exposure to automated reporting is an asset.
  • Effective analytical, organization, and time management skills in order to meet deadlines.
  • Demonstrates a strong commitment to AIMCo’s core values of excellence, transparency, humility, integrity and collaboration, and inspires the same in others
  • Good understanding of, and ability to apply, investment accounting rules and guidelines including Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants handbook (GAAP), Public Sector Accounting Board (PASB), International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and the Financial Administration Act is an asset.
