Position description
The Business Development, Client Partnership, and Marketing Sector: Where Innovation Meets Client Objectives and Business Growth
Do you want to participate in market growth and development while building client trust through effective communication? You’ll be at the heart of the action, positioning Addenda Capital in a constantly evolving environment. This is a challenge that suits you perfectly.
Reporting to the Vice-President, Business Development, your primary responsibilities will include the planning, organization and supervision of all activities relating to consultant relations and business development. You will also be responsible for championing new strategies and, where appropriate, the role may also include direct engagement with clients to support relationship development and retention.
Your responsibilities
  • Collaborate closely with the Vice-President in the planning and implementation of action plans for the firm’s institutional division;
  • Organize and participate in business development initiatives with diverse organizations to expand client base;
  • Help offer an exceptional level of service when dealing with clients and managers and strive to provide a seamless client experience;
  • Develop and improve the processes and workflows under your responsibility and provide regular oversight of involved teams;
  • Collaborate in the production of projects under your responsibility in order to meet business targets, maximize results and ensure client satisfaction;
  • Build partnerships and maintain relationships with a range of internal and external stakeholders;
  • Ensure the quality of communications, translation and other materials that position the firm within the industry. 
Required skills / Experience
What you bring
  • Undergraduate university degree in Business Administration with a focus on Finance;
  • At least 8 to 10 years of experience in a similar role in the financial services industry;
  • CFA designation and compliance with portfolio manager registration requirements (compulsory);
  • High-level of proficiency with Office Suite programs including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook; and
  • Strong professional experience in business development, with a proven ability to develop and implement institutional sales strategies in the industry.

  • If located in Montreal, you are proficient in both English and French, oral and written (English is required to perform daily tasks and interact with clients based in Quebec and other Canadian provinces);

  • You are a motivated and disciplined sales professional who takes initiative and always strives to exceed sales objectives;
  • You have the ability to undertake a diversity of projects, manage competing priorities and meet tight deadlines while maintaining a high degree of professionalism; and
  • You are experienced and comfortable drafting content, participating in thought leadership, and leveraging current and new media engagement tools.
This role requires to be available for business travel.
