Director, Investment Banking, Financial Institutions Group (FIG)

Position description

Purpose of Role

You will utilize your financial services experience to conduct critical financial and qualitative reviews of companies in order to present findings in a concise and professional manner externally to our clients and internally to our partners.

An emphasis will be placed on the ability to source new business for the investment banking group based upon perspectives for the potential need for investment banking services.

You’ll also be responsible for generating and executing capital markets (equity and debt) and advisory opportunities for industry specific companies.

What You’ll Do:

Directing the financial services Investment Banking business line by conceptualizing, developing and implementing initiatives to address the strategic and financial challenges faced by industry clients
Optimizing business opportunities, managing risk and maximizing shareholder value in Global Banking & Markets’ wholesale financial services globally and achieve sustainable revenue growth
Enhancing product capabilities; building global industry specialization in key sectors; and driving growth in new international markets
Assisting the group with the generation and evaluation of financing and M&A opportunities
Advising clients in M&A processes and through capital raising processes

Work Arrangement:

This position is largely an onsite role, with the expectation that you will work 4-5 days a week in the office. Please note that this is subject to change based on the needs of the business.

Required skills / Experience

What You’ll Bring:

7+ years of experience in financial services industries ideally in Investment banking, Capital Markets and/or Mergers & Acquisitions, including project evaluation and significant time in a corporate development capacity
A relevant bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification and have an excellent academic and professional record
Completed a Master’s degree or MBA (would be an asset)
A CFA or equivalent designation (would be an asset)
