Student Internships
Role Summary:
The CPA Program offers a four- or eight-month internship placement for students pursuing a CPA designation. The team is seeking either one eight-month intern (September 2026 to April 2027) or two four-month interns (September to December 2026 and January to April 2027). As an Intern, you will join CPP Investments in our Toronto office within the Legal department, supporting Assurance & Advisory (“A&A”), our internal audit team.
This internship also serves as a pipeline to CPP Investments’ full-time CPA Rotational Analyst Program. High-performing interns who demonstrate an interest in pursuing their CPA designation may be considered for an opportunity to return.
Accountabilities & Qualifications:
Assurance & Advisory provides independent assurance over the adequacy and effectiveness of CPP Investments’ governance, risk management, and controls. The team performs audits and advisory engagements across the organization, including Public Markets, Private Markets, and Technology & Operations, with results reported regularly to Management, senior executives, and the Audit Committee.
Internal audit offers a unique, enterprise-wide perspective. Interns contribute directly to audit engagements and gain broad exposure across a global investment organization, developing an understanding of how capital is deployed and how risks are managed across multiple business areas. This breadth of exposure enables strong “east–west” connections and builds highly transferable skills that support long-term career growth across risk, finance, operations, and investment-related roles.

Internship Program
Your experience begins with Intern Orientation in September, where you’ll connect with fellow interns and gain a broad understanding of how the Fund operates across teams and functions. Throughout the term, you will have the opportunity to engage in organization-wide events and initiatives while building your skillset through hands-on, on-the-job learning aligned with your team’s priorities.
You’ll also participate in a cross-functional Intern Hackathon, collaborating with peers across departments to solve real business challenges. The program emphasizes mentorship, networking, and social events to help you build meaningful connections across the organization. Interns are encouraged to get involved in our Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) to expand their networks and contribute to our inclusive culture.
