Are you an experienced change management professional ready to shape how one of Canada’s leading institutional investors navigates change?

BCI is seeking a Manager, Organizational Change Management to lead organizational change initiatives and contribute to building enterprise-wide change management capability. You’ll develop and implement change strategies, design communications plans, and deliver training programs that drive business outcomes while actively supporting employees through transitions.

In this role, you’ll partner with OCM team members and other stakeholders across our global offices to enable project-driven change and execute on OCM initiatives. A seasoned change manager with financial services or investment management background would be ideal.

THE OPPORTUNITY

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Employee Experience & Inclusion (EE&I), the Manager, Organizational Change Management (OCM) works with members of the OCM team and stakeholders to deliver on BCI’s OCM mandate and plan to enable enterprise change management capability. The individual plays a key role in ensuring BCI meets desired business outcomes by providing sound management advice, tools and support to the organization. The Manager works to identify and address people, organizational, process and technology impacts at BCI, while supporting organization-wide internal communications and change management.

The Manager is responsible for providing organizational change management for assigned projects and business initiatives. The role is responsible for the identification and development of OCM plans for these projects, hands-on execution of OCM activities, provision of OCM support, and working collaboratively with project teams to ensure achievement of business objectives.

The Employee Experience & Inclusion (EE&I) team is at the epicentre of BCI’s culture and the employee experience across our global offices. The team is responsible for the execution and implementation of Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) strategy, building BCI’s competitive advantage through employee experience initiatives and enabling effective change management.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Execute on BCI’s Organizational Change Management mandate and plan and enable enterprise change management capability
  • Continuously improve and update OCM plans and modify change management activities based on stakeholder feedback and input
  • Provide advice and guidance to senior leadership on change strategies
  • Provide coaching at all levels/roles to develop change competencies within the organization
  • Effectively manage change, facilitate relationships, and build consensus to achieve the desired business results
  • Help to define, capture and understand change impacts of various projects at BCI including impacts on stakeholders and any barriers that must be overcome, including any behavioural shifts required
  • Engage stakeholders to gain their support in championing change and ensuring its implementation and sustainment across the company
  • Liaise with communications, project management office and other functions to align people and change strategies
  • Provide hands-on change management support and leadership to a portfolio of corporate projects
  • Partner with business owners, project leads, managers, contractors and other BCI stakeholders to implement change management activities
  • Provide sponsor support and change leadership coaching to management teams
  • Plan, execute and support change management activities as appropriate to project complexity, change impact and stakeholder needs
  • Advise, empower and guide project managers and teams to implement change management strategies as part of effective project planning and implementation
  • Engage stakeholders to gain support and buy-in to support effective implementation and sustainment of change
  • Develop and implement strategic communication plans to support specific projects or change efforts
  • Draft, distribute and manage various communication tactics and channels
  • Develop and implement training plans as required to support acquisition of knowledge & skills related to change plans

WHERE YOU WILL WORK

This role can be based in either our Victoria or Vancouver office, with a strong preference for Victoria.

SALARY RANGE

The annualized base salary range for this role is CAD $124,000 – $144,000.

Required skills / Experience

WHAT YOU BRING

  • 6+ years of progressive experience leading and facilitating change management initiatives
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Communications or relevant discipline
  • Ability to apply change processes and change management principles and effectively adapt them to meet business needs
  • Demonstrated experience developing and executing organizational change management plans
  • Experience developing and implementing change management tools and templates for use across multiple projects
  • Experience developing and executing strategic communication plans to support change efforts
  • Experience developing and executing training plans
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to write for a variety of audiences
  • Experience supporting project sponsors and business owners and working effectively as on project teams
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to relate to all levels of stakeholders
  • Facilitation experience, with the ability to design and execute working or training sessions to uncover change impacts, enable change and support a culture of continuous improvement
  • A solid understanding of project management methodology and phases of the project lifecycle
  • Proficient with Microsoft products, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Demonstrated track record of achieving results in a complex business environment
  • Initiative, drive, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • A customer-focused and service-oriented attitude

 

PREFERRED

  • Experience within the financial or investment industry
  • PROSCI or other equivalent change management certification
