Position description

The Corporate & Investor Relations (CIR) department plays a crucial role in maintaining and enhancing BCI’s relationships with its clients and stakeholders through world-class engagement. The department is responsible for understanding the clients’ needs and representing their interests within the organization, helping them develop investment strategies and policies, and communicating effectively with both internal and external audiences. Overall, the CIR department is vital for ensuring stakeholder satisfaction, client retention, and the organization’s long-term success. The continued growth and increased profile of the organization has increased the need for greater focus and development of BCI’s client engagement programs.

As a result of the continued growth and evolution of BCI, the organization is now seeking an experienced client relations leader to join the organization as the Vice President, Client Partnerships. Clients are at the core of everything BCI does, and the VP will immediately take on a critical, high-profile role. Reporting to the Executive Vice President, Corporate & Investor Relations and leading a team of 17, the VP, Client Partnerships will lead all client relations and reporting functions that seek to continuously elevate BCI’s client value proposition and strengthen its trusted advisor role with its 29 institutional investor clients. The VP will support the long-term strategic vision for the Corporate & Investor Relations (CIR) team by executing a multi-year strategy to significantly enhance capabilities and effectiveness as BCI seeks to build a world-class client partnership function.

BCI offers a competitive total rewards package which includes a performance-based incentive plan, comprehensive health & dental benefits, a defined benefit pension plan and paid time off.

The annualized base salary range for this role based in Victoria is CAD $180,000-$230,000.

The base salary offered to the successful candidate will consider a wide array of factors including but not limited to the individual’s skill set, level of experience applicable to the role they are being offered and consideration to internal equity.

We pay our people competitively in the markets in which we compete for talent and with consideration to internal equity and job structure. We aim for actual pay to be around the median of the market for target or expected levels of performance, and around the upper quartile of the market for excellent performance.

Actual salaries may vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors, including, but not limited to, experience and expertise.

Required skills / Experience

The ideal candidate is an experienced and seasoned institutional client relations leader with a track record of success building and managing relationships with diverse institutional clients and managing complex stakeholder relationships within an investment/asset management or consulting organization.

The VP will be an exceptional communicator, influencer and relationship builder who is highly approachable, genuine, and transparent. They will be able to quickly build trust and credibility with stakeholders and bring the confidence, diplomacy and tact necessary to both represent client interest’s to BCI as well as BCI’s interest to the clients. As an exceptional people leader, the VP must bring a strong coaching and mentorship approach and an ability to shape culture, drive change, and operational strategies.
