Join us for a lunch and learn featuring 3 speakers from Wood Mackenzie who will each provide a comprehensive overview of the energy transition, from the technological advancements in carbon capture and storage to the evolving landscape of ESG investing and corporate sustainability, and the practical challenges faced by companies in the supply chain. By understanding these interconnected aspects, we can better navigate the path to a sustainable energy future.

Speakers and topics will include:

• Xin Yi Dong –The role of Carbon Capture, Utilization, and Storage (CCUS) in global decarbonization – covering global energy scenarios, current CCUS activity, and emerging trends. Xin will delve into the outlook for CCUS technologies and highlight Canada’s unique contributions. She will provide a base understanding of CCUS and its potential to transform the energy sector and mitigate climate change
• Nicholas Winters- As companies increasingly invest in the energy transition they are running into multiple challenges of high demand, long lead times and uncertainty of supply. What does this mean for companies looking to invest in the Energy Transition at multiple stages of the supply chain and how are companies changing to manage the increased complexity.
• Ayisha Zia- ESG investing and the ratings that underpin it have lost their lustre, but the threat it poses hasn’t diminished. Now more than ever, companies and their stakeholders need to understand and evaluate how they are positioned to navigate energy transition – both the risks and opportunities. Wood Mackenzie’s Corporate Sustainability Index goes beyond ESG, to provide a nuanced assessment of corporate positioning in the face of a changing world. More relevant to how companies in energy and mining manage their business. And a more useful measure of how they stack up against one another.
