Let’s Talk Science is seeking passionate and dedicated individuals to join our Board of Directors. Ideal candidates are those who share, or closely align with, our mission and are eager to contribute their skills,
experience, and insights to advance the organization’s goals. We are particularly interested in candidates with a finance background, such as a CPA, who can provide expertise in financial oversight and strategy.
As a member of the Board, you will play an active role in supporting good governance, strategic direction, and the overall success and sustainability of our organization.

Let’s Talk Science is an award-winning, national, charitable organization that has provided engaging, evidence-based science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) based programming for more than
30 years at no cost for Canadian youth and educators. We are committed to developing youth who are creative, critical thinkers and knowledgeable citizens prepared to participate and thrive in a complex
global environment that is increasingly shaped by science and technology.
Senior-level
The Board
The Board of Directors is instrumental in leading Let’s Talk Science and working closely with the President to develop the organization’s mission, long-term goals and objectives, risk assessment and the annual
operating plan. It is imperative that the Board adhere to best practices and governance excellence to ensure the appropriate level of oversight.
For purposes of Board composition, diversity includes, but is
not limited to, geography, age, gender and ethnicity.
The Opportunity
The Candidate
Professional and Strategic Experience:
• Finance/Accounting (CPA preferred)
• Nonprofit, charitable sector or philanthropic fund leadership understanding and connection to
sources of private or public support.
• Entrepreneurship and executive business leadership
• Government Relations and public affairs
• Experience in systems change, organizational growth and impact strategy
• Previous board governance experience (nonprofit and/or corporate) is preferred but is not
required.
Other Attributes that will also be considered necessary:
• Passion for the mission of supporting youth development through STEM engagement
• Excellent communication and collaborative skills
• Strong community ties, acting as an ambassador and connector within your networks
• Capacity to contribute time, energy, and resources to Let’s Talk Science and the Board of Directors
