June 10, 2025 – VersaFi is proud to announce the appointments of Brad Black as our new Chair of the Board of Directors, and Joanne O’Hea as Vice Chair. Both offer exceptional leadership experience in the finance sector – and as returning board members, step into their new roles with a deep understanding of our mission, values, and vision for the future.
Brad Black is Managing Director and Head of Global Distribution at CIBC Capital Markets, responsible for all client-facing Global Markets solutions and services for Corporate, Institutional, Government, Mid-Market and Retail clients. Over his 24-year career, Brad has worked in all key areas of Capital Markets including Investment & Corporate Banking, bringing a broad perspective to clients. Brad is a longtime advocate of advancing women and building inclusive, values-driven workplaces, most recently serving as Board Vice Chair of VersaFi. Brad has been recognized by VersaFi as the recipient of the VersaFi Champion of Change Award in 2018. He is also involved in many community initiatives, including the United Way Major Individual Giving (MIG) Cabinet, MLSE Foundation fundraising, and co-founder of C4K’s Bay Street Games. His dedication to inclusion, allyship and community impact will be vital as we advance our mission and broaden our reach.
Joanne is Managing Director, Equity Capital Markets at RBC Capital Markets. An unwavering champion of women and the advancement of talent at all levels, she has made significant contributions to building an inclusive culture at the firm since joining in 2007. Joanne is founding member of RBC Capital Markets’ RWomen, a globally expanding internal forum dedicated to fostering the development and career aspirations of employees. A passionate and active volunteer, Joanne has been instrumental in shaping VersaFi’s mentorship and executive coaching programs. Joanne has been recognized by VersaFi as the recipient of the Rising Star Award (2011), Executive Coaching Award (2016) and Champion of Change (2017), highlighting leaders in the capital markets industry. Most recently, Joanne served as a Director and Chair of the Governance Committee on VersaFi’s Board of Directors. Her strategic approach, collaborative mindset and passion for impact will be key to our ongoing success.
During a time when headwinds persist, Brad and Joanne’s visionary leadership and commitment to allyship reflect the spirit and strength of our mission. We are honoured to have their collective energy lead our Board of Directors as we continue to create opportunities, amplify voices, and accelerate progress for women in finance.
